Halving Machine

The LIMAS halving machine can be delivered with 4,6 or 8 lanes depending on the capacity required.

The halving machine divides the potatoes across their longest axes.

The LIMAS halving machine consists mainly of three parts. Feed elevator for singulating and synchronizing the infeed. Roller belt for orientation and centralising Circular knife drum for dividing the potatoes.

The feed elevator is equipped with cups which take the potatoes from a small container and feed them up to the roller belt. The cups are suited for the size of the potato to prevent double filling. An empty cup is better than two potatoes in the same cup for best quality cutting.

The roller belt consists of rollers with a special design. The potatoes will easily find their place between the rollers. Each potato will be placed with its geometrical axis parallel to the rollers and central between two of them. The rollers have been machined with a diablo shape, so the potatoes will find the lanes and be placed central to the circular knives. The halving machine is continuous running with no indexing.

Quatering Machine

The LIMAS quartering machine can be delivered with 3 or 4 lanes depending on capacity required.

The quartering machine divides the potatoes into four pieces, with one cut along the longest axis and the other centrally across it.

The LIMAS quartering machine consists mainly of three parts. Feed elevator for singulating and synchronizing the infeed. Roller belt for orientation and centralising

Circular knife drum with circular halving knives and cross-cut knives, pusher-plate and ejection mechanism.

The feed elevator is equipped with cups which take the potatoes from a small container and feed them up to the roller belt. The cups are suited for the size of the potato to prevent double filling. An empty cup is better than two potatoes in the same cup for best quality cutting.

For accurate quartering the cross-cut knives must come precisely between the rollers. To ensure this, the roller belt can be timed to the knifedrum very accurately and simply.

Depending on the size of the potatoes the quartering machine can be delivered with different roller pitches and diameters.

Hydrocutter

The LIMAS hydrocutter system can be used for potatoes, pieces or French Fries of carrots and other products.

LIMAS hydrocutter system consists mainly of five parts; pump tank, product pump, acceleration pipe with a cutter head, dewatering shaker and piping between these components.

The product is supplied into the re-circulated water in the specially designed pump tank. From here it is pumped, in a single channel pump of our own design, towards the cutter head.  In the cutter head houses a knife holder in which the knives are assembled. After the product has been cut it is carried with the water to the double deck dewatering shaker.

With the LIMAS hydrocutter system it is also possible to cut an odd number of pieces.

Hasselback Machine

The Limas Hasselback machine is a continuous cutter with variable speed adjustable up to 2000 potatoes per hour. The cutting action is accurate and gentle to the product.

The operation requires one person to place a potato in each cup of the infeed belt. The construction allows the operator to stand or sit down while working.

Potato specification: Length maximum 100 mm, diameter maximum 60 mm. Other sizes available by request.

Standard cut spacing is 4,5 mm but other spacing is available by request.

Good reliability and low maintenance is provided by sturdy construction, with stainless steel bearings and chains. The design is hygienic with a removable housing over the cutting unit and folding protection covers over the chains giving easy access for cleaning.

The machine can be delivered in either right or left hand execution with the motor, control and emergency stop mounted on the inlet side. Alternatively, the controls can be placed on a wall near the machine.
